Andy C. McIntoshSpacer

Dr. Andy C. McIntosh DSc, FIMA, C.Math, FEI, CEng, FInstP, MIGEM, FRAeS, is, Professor of Thermodynamics and Combustion Theory in Leeds, England. Professor McIntosh is a trained mathematician and has worked in aerodynamics at Cranfield University and the Royal Aircraft Establishment (Bedford) before coming to Leeds in 1986 where he has researched in many areas related to Combustion and thermodynamics. In recent years his research has been in the field of biomimetics (learning to apply inspiration from nature to engineering problems). In particular he has studied the spray characteristics of the bombardier beetle with a view to using this in practical applications in industry.

His career in mathematics and science has led him very much to the view that the world and the Universe show powerful evidence of design. As a result, he is often asked to speak on the subject of origins, in the UK, US and a number of other countries.

He is author of the book Genesis for Today - Showing the relevance of the Creation / Evolution debate to today's society (Day One, 4th Edition. 2010), has a chapter on 'Design in the world and the Universe' in the book In six days – why 50 scientists choose to believe in Creation (Ed. J. Ashton, New Holland 1999) and a chapter 'Information and Thermodynamics' in the recent book, Should Christians Embrace Evolution?, (Ed. N. Nevin, Presbyterian & Reformed Publishing Inc., 2011.)
