Brian Thomas received his bachelor's degree in biology in 1993 and a master’s in biotechnology in 1999 from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas. He taught junior high and high school at Christian schools in Texas, as well as biology, chemistry, and anatomy as an adjunct and assistant professor at Dallas-area universities. Since 2008 Mr. Thomas has been a science writer and editor at ICR, where he contributes news and magazine articles, speaks on creation issues, and researches original tissue fossils. He is the author of Dinosaurs and the Bible and a contributor to Guide to Creation Basics, Creation Basics & Beyond, Guide to Dinosaurs, and Guide to the Human Body.
Dr. Hebert earned a bachelor’s degree in physics (summa cum laude) from Lamar University in 1995, as well as a master’s degree in physics in 1999 from Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. in 2011 from the University of Texas at Dallas, where his research involved a study of the possible connection between fair-weather atmospheric electricity and weather and climate. Prior to earning his Ph.D., he taught at both the high school and university levels. He joined ICR in 2011 as a research associate and is currently researching the post-Flood Ice Age, the dating methods used to assign ages to the seafloor sediments and deep ice cores, cosmology, and general apologetics. He is also eager to help extend Dr. Larry Vardiman’s work on climates before and after the Flood. Dr. Hebert’s technical articles have been published in the Journal of Creation and the Answers Research Journal. He is also the author of numerous articles for Acts & Facts, as well as the booklet The Ice Age and the Flood: Does Science Really Show Millions of Years?
M.S. Physics, PhD. Physics
Melanie Richard has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Montana. Melanie does illustrations for Creation scientist Michael Oard and is the artist for the Glendive Dinosaur and Fossil Museum, creating all their murals and dinosaur recreations. Melanie is also the resident artist for ZooMontana where she designs and creates small animal habitats. She has been part of the Education Department at ZooMontana for 20 years and is an animal handler for the zoo.
Melanie has a husband, Park, and two sons, Daniel, a former Infantry Marine Sergeant with 1st LAR and currently attending MSUB , and Micah, an MMA black-belt and MSUB graduate.
B.A. Fine Arts
Perry Fishbaugh received his Bachelor of Science from Montana State University in 1989 and has taught 6-12th grade sciences for over 20 years with public, private and now home school students. He attended Moody Bible Institute and completed his studies in Bible Theology in 1974. He is co-owner with his wife of a business that has contracted with the federal government for 25+ years to operate Forest Service campgrounds in three National Forests.
Michael Oard earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in atmospheric science from the University of Washington. For six years he was a research meteorologist at the University of Washington, and has published several research articles in journals and technical monographs of the American Meteorological Society. Michael retired in 2001 after 30 years of employment by the National Weather Service. Since then, he has been engaged in full time research, writing, and speaking in creation earth science. He has also authored, coauthored, or served as editor of many creationist books and has published numerous related articles in the creation science technical literature. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Creation Research Society.
M. S. Atmospheric Science
Mark Amunrud received a BS in mathematics from MSU Billings, a Master’s in worship and theology from Western Seminary in Portland, and an MS in Industrial and Management Engineering from MSU Bozeman. He started Bridger Systems in 1991 and sold it to a large company in 2003. Mark was president of Montana Bible College for three years and now is a full-time researcher of science and scripture.
